Where & How?The Green Gathering is held in Piercefield Park, Chepstow, NP16 6BE.
Chepstow is an historic Welsh border town, just 18 miles from Bristol and 125 miles from London, close to the M4.
Situated just outside the town, high above the Wye Valley, the festival site affords spectacular views across the Severn estuary. The neoclassical ruins of Piercefield House provide an atmospheric backdrop to the festival. The surrounding countryside and woodland – complete with standing stones, caves and local legends – is a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The site is next to Chepstow Racecourse; follow signs to the racecourse, then festival signs will direct you to the carparks and box office.
The box office and campsite will open at noon on Thursday 2nd August and you will need to leave site by noon on Monday 6th August. The Box Office is otherwise open between 10am and 10pm. Please arrive between these times to access the carpark, campsite and festival.
Public Transport, Walking & Cycling:-
We’re hoping to run a dedicated festival shuttle bus from the train station to the festival site in 2018 – watch this space!
Chepstow train station is approx 5 minutes walk from the town centre; from the centre it’s another 20 minutes walk (or so) to the festival site.
The number 69 bus runs from the railway station (and from the town centre bus station) to near the festival entrance. Ask for ‘Chepstow Racecourse’. There’s also a taxi rank outside the railway station.
For up to date local travel info contact Chepstow Tourist Information on 01291 623772 or chepstow.tic@monmouthshire.gov.uk
Cyclists – We aim to run a guided Green Gathering By Bicycle ride from Bristol train station each year. Contact getinvolved@greengathering.org.uk if you’d like to travel sustainably and join a cycle ride… or if you’d like to lead such a ride!
Pedestrians – If you’d like to jump on our free shuttle bus from the festival entrance to the camping fields follow signs to the festival carpark – this is where the shuttle bus picks up. If you intend to walk up our steep woodland track to the camping fields, the most convenient route will be through Lion Gate (yes, a gate with stone lions). Take care – there will be vehicles on this route too. (Please note – there may be changes to this information in 2018 as we intend to improve pedestrian access…)
Driving:-
Cars will be directed around the roundabout into our Carpark (hardstanding – so no getting stuck on a muddy field!).
Live-in Vehicles and vehicles with Assisted Access passes will be directed via ‘Gold Gate’ to the Campervan fields or to the Assisted Access area.
All Drivers please remember to buy your vehicle pass from Bristol Ticket Shop, to have your details written on the pass, and to have the pass stuck to your windscreen in a very visible position! (Live-in vehicle passes will not be available at the gate; carpark passes will be available on the gate but please buy yours in advance if possible – it’s cheaper and avoids delays.)
Please follow instructions from our Gate and Traffic crew who will facilitate entry and parking, and will direct you to the Box Office to collect your festival wristband.
Drivers looking for passengers and people looking for lifts – SIGN UP to find like-minded people to travel with via our GoCarShare page; please minimise fuel use (and costs) by filling your vehicle with festival folk… and help us keep our Festival Vision 2025 pledge to cut emissions. Festival Transport & Choosing a Campsite:-
The Green Gathering shuttle bus provides transport from the Box Office in the carpark, along an (uphill) woodland track, to the Welcome Point on the edge of the camping fields. Here you can get directions to Family Camping, General Camping, Quiet Camping etc.
Please be aware that if you bring huge amounts of camping gear it may take a few trips and a few hours to shuttle it all to your camping site! The festival has a very narrow access route which has to be prioritised for shuttle buses, live-in vehicles and assisted access vehicles; you will not be able to drive onto site in your own vehicle to unload your camping gear.
We know that a combination of factors (including lots of weather) meant people experienced delays getting off site in 2017 and we are working on our Traffic Management Plan to try and avoid that happening again. We’ll also be looking at more shuttle bus options, including designated shuttles for people who arrive by public transport.
Please help us to keep the traffic flowing – don’t bring your whole life including the kitchen sink unless you really, really need to
An evening of music and larks, in celebration of the life of Paul McCann, featuring; Poisoned Electrick Head. Mike and the McCann-ics. Greg Oldield. Slaughterhouse. Paul Dockerty. Stephen Goodall. Compered by Michael Livesley. 5 pound on door. All money raised goes to pay funeral costs.
Solarsphere Festival is a small, family friendly festival held in the beautiful Welsh countryside. We aim to educate the curious, the beginner and the more experienced amateur about various aspects of the Cosmos via talks and workshops. Children welcome in ALL talks although some might be a little beyond a young child’s understanding. Adults welcome to get involved in the children’s workshops too!
We believe that learning is even more fun in a non-learning environment where everyone can also relax by their tents, absorb the beautiful setting of the countryside, take part in workshops and enjoy discovering new music.
Solarsphere is an independent, non-profit festival which is not over crowded, you do not have to walk miles to your tent, there are ‘proper’ showers and toilets which are cleaned regularly AND… your thoughts and your experience of our festival matters to us which is why we listen to you when we have feedback!
Solarsphere welcome the community to help us constantly evolve into a festival you will always love and want to return to. Feedback forms will be given at the festival or can be filled in online after the event to assist with this.
Your continued support is much appreciated, Sarah & Pete (Solarsphere Organisers).

Gaye Bikers On Acid Supported by Poisoned Electrick Head
How many people loved the psyched out, acid fused, funked up, heady rock sounds that GBOA served up back in the day and wish they could still get to throw some shapes while Robber, Mary, Tony, and Kev wang their twisted aural delicacies at them live?
Sadly back in 1990 would've been the last time it was possible as the band went their seperate ways to work on individual projects meaning that the GBOA live experience was set to be a distant memory. Well, 26 years later and they're back! Really! They're back! The lads are set to perform three special live events, and in addition have decided to add a few select dates for a mini tour, and we've gone and booked them for a Birmingham gig! :D It's happening!
Dysfunctional Bungle & The BarnBoppers Collective in conjunction with Mute Elephant are proud to present:
GAYE BYKERS ON ACID - THE ELECTRIC BANANA TOUR.
Put Saturday 24th September in your diaries folks as they're heading to the Wagon & Horses in Digbeth for a good old git down.
Playing Live:
GAYE BYKERS ON ACID There's no write up needed really is there! Those that know, know, those that don't... where ya been?
POISONED ELECTRICK HEAD Long established psychedelic space rock ear bending veterans. Another firm favourite on the BarnBoppers booking rosta.
SOCIO SUKI A popular BarnBoppers booking from local twisted noise mischiefs. *more details to follow.
On turntable duties for the evening playing a whole host of 60's garage punk, pysch, dirty funk, wigged out freakbeat, and twisted acidic melodies we have:
AUSTIN CORROSIVE (System Rejects/ Corrosive Records/ BarnBoppers)
ART ILL (Shuddervision/ Shake the Fuzz/ BarnBoppers)
Visual delights come courtesy of our friends NORTHERN LIGHTS COLLECTIVE who'll be creating a veritable mind boggling lazer beamed illuminated spectacle.
We'll have a selection of wonky cider to tickle your tastebuds in addition to the usual slurpy wonk pop that the Wagon provides, and we're currently working on putting an after party together at a secret venue near by.
This will be a ticket only event and we're expecting tickets to fly out. Tickets will be available from Ticketmaster priced at £15 +booking fee. Keep an eye out for a link soon!
Everythang really is groovy. :)

Surplus Fest 2016

For those of you that have been before then you'll know what is instore. If you've never been then you're in for a weekend to remember :-)
The festival is set in a lush green field right on the beautiful coast of South Wales. The site has access to the beach with plenty of coastal walkways and forest paths to explore, perfect for dog walking or going on an adventure! Maybe you want to relax, sit around a little fire and watch the sun set or rise? The beach is perfect :-)
The festival is a family friendly event with lots to do for families throughout the day! We have plenty of children's entertainment such as balloon modelling, magic, storytelling, arts and crafts and much more.
There's loads fun for the adults too including fire shows, a fire pit, a healing area (various treatments available If you’re feeling a bit worse for wear or just need to relax), traders selling festival clothing, hats and jewellery and loads more.
Our food vendors are set up to cater for everyone, so whether you’re craving a vegan curry or burger and chips, we've got you covered!
Our bar will be selling various local Ales and Ciders as well as your favourite drinks and refreshments, all sold at very reasonable prices!

We also have 'Eeky's Cheeky Chill Space' so if you fancy a coffee or tea or just wanna lounge around and soak up some reggae, dub and chilled out vibes then this is the place to be!
With our previous events we've always tried to be as green as possible and we intend to keep working with solar power, recycling and upcycling.
Surplus is a dog friendly event, as long as dogs are kept on a lead (which is attached to a human representative!) and any mess is cleaned up after them then we're happy for you to bring them. We'll be asking for a small donation from dog owners which will be donated to a local charity.

Here & Now are an English psychedelic/space rock band formed in early 1974. They have close connections with the band Gong and in 1977/1978 worked with Gong's Daevid Allen and Gilli Smyth under the name Planet Gong.
